FACT SHEET

SHORT GAME DESCRIPTION

Punderworld is a Tabletop Worldplaying Game with pun-based mechanics, where players use figurative language to traverse from the City of Wit’s tallest towers to the lowest levels of the Punderworld. Dad Jokes, fantastical beings, and an adventure literally like no other await!

LONG GAME DESCRIPTION

Punderworld is a Tabletop Worldplaying game where players explore the fantastical City of Wit and plumb the depths of the Punderworld. Using a variety of pun based mechanics adjustable for various levels of wordplay prowess, players use figurative language to transform and transgress the world around them. These mechanics include timed pun competitions, a dad joke counter, advantages for making the entire table groan, and more.

Players play as either residents of these realms or as mysterious travelers from our own world who inadvertently got lost in a good book…Fans of Discworld or The Phantom Tollbooth will find similar humor and whimsy baked into the ruleset, worldbuilding, character generation, and who’s who of Witizens to encounter, from the yarn-spinning Seemstress to the by-the-book Pundertaker.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Linnie Schell (they/them) is a NYC-based game designer and producer with a background in immersive events. With a specific interest in games that incorporate non-dice based mechanics, they delight in pushing the boundary of what is possible at the table. They most recently wrote and published Tabletop Gone Mad and Burning Down the Goat with Twice Rolled Tales, where they are also Creative Producer.

ABOUT THE PUBLISHER

Twice Rolled Tales is a NYC-based indie TTRPG and actual play studio publishing inventive games infused with wit, whimsy, and bite. Their flagship title, Tabletop Gone Mad, combines streamlined d20 mechanics with the unpredictability of fill-in-the-blank word games to create customized one-shot adventures for tables of all experience levels. Their sophomore title, Burning Down the Goat, is inspired by Gävle, Sweden’s annual struggle to burn/save the town’s 40ft tall straw Yule Goat. In addition to publishing indie TTRPGs, Twice Rolled Tales tells stories that push the world of actual play in exciting new directions on their YouTube channel, @twicerolledtales. From site-specific actual plays of Last Train to Bremen filmed on the NYC subway and a found footage-inspired Ten Candles in the woods, to Call of Cthulhu Regency capers, and a reverse isekai that turns the world of DIE upside down, Twice Rolled Tales is exploring new frontiers in TTRPGs for creative gamers everywhere.
